Fandom is passion. Embrace it. Support it in others. Envy them a world of discovery still to waiting. Maybe learn a thing or too in the process or not. Fandom is greater with more fans, not a rare thing to be hoarded.

Those old guard fans who might remember the ridicule you faced for your joy, you have an opportunity to help another fan, to shield them from the slings and arrows you once bore. If we geeks don’t stand up for one another, if we resort to bullying others who are casuals or newbs, then we have become that which tormented us.
