Time to change things up a little.

Since I started doing these yearly Gamer Goals, I’ve managed to hit the mark for new games played and do pretty well for replaying older games. The problems is, my collection is pretty big already. Trying new games tends towards me buying more games while older games languish in neglect. I know many folks with big collections and have the opportunity to play those without committing to purchase.

Goal – Buy a maximum of 5 new games

I’m going to count used games and games of under $10 as 1/2 a game. Hopefully this make me ponder purchases a bit longer. Recent economic policies have made many newer games even more expensive.

Goal – Replay 10+ older games

‘Nuff said.

Goal – Loan / trade 5+ games with other gamers

New games are expensive. I might not blog much about this, but this is more about supporting a community of gamers. I’m setting the bar low so that I don’t start coming off as a pusher and many loaned games don’t get played in the end. As of this morning I sent off a care package of three board games and three TTRPGs so folks can give them a test run before committing to investing in them. I currently have a game on the shelf that I borrowed last year but still need to find time and players to take for a spin.

So folks, In Your Humble Opinion, what are some board games from pre 2025 that are worth checking out?
